ASEAN Youth Orchestra - Music Scores ‘The Glimpse of Southeast Asia’

Each original work (score) in the application must be a new or pre-existing work, no older than 5 years, and no longer than 10 minutes in duration. It must reflect the theme: ‘The Glimpse of Southeast Asia’ and that of the SEAMEX occasion; a sharing of cultures, skills, and ideas. The work must be that of the applicant.

Six works will be selected from the applications for presentation on the 7th September by the ASEAN Youth Orchestra with guest professional music conductor. The decision of the panel is final. Total orchestration available: (Strings Section) Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello & Contrabass, (Woodwind Section) Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, (Brass Section) French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Tuba, (Percussion Section) Timpani, Drum Set, (Combo) Piano, Electric Guitar, Electric Bass. Minimum number of players to be used 13; being one from each sectionWe also need a song based on the theme "The Glimpse of Southeast Asia" for Choir. The choir score consists of 4 vocal ranges (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass)

The application is free. There is no prize money or awards being offered. No hire, rental or commission fees will be incurred or entertained. There are no age restrictions.

All scores in the application are to be submitted in PDF format together with a cover letter (programme note) and a full biography, together with the composer’s photo. Links to recordings of the work may also be included. No hard copies will be entertained or returned. 

SEAMEX 2019 reserves the right to keep all scores and parts on file, include to be making arrangements to be performed based on music scores. Intellectual Property Rights of the composers are not affected. Composers will be notified of any repeat performances.
